Every cook and baker should have a good recipe for chocolate cake. This all-American chocolate cake recipe is an all-purpose dessert that makes a rich and luscious cake that is moist and light at the same time. One of the easiest you can make cake recipes of all time. Make this for a special holiday or a romantic occasion and treat your friends and family to an indulgent dessert. This is a simple enough recipe for the novice bakers to attempt. It consists of simple ingredients including unsweetened chocolate, butter, vanilla extract, all-purpose flour, white sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, skimmed milk, and eggs.  Some of the best chocolate recipes can be found at Gourmandia.

When making chocolate cake batter, it is best for all the ingredients to be at room temperature. The butter should be softened and the eggs well beaten before they are added to the other ingredients. Before assembling the batter measure out all the ingredients as precise as possible. Sift the flour and the other dry ingredients and scoop the sifted flour using a spoon onto the measuring cup and level out the flour with the back of the knife. While you prepare the mixture, turn on the oven and preheat it to the indicated temperature
