How to Avoid Cravings While Dieting

How to Avoid Cravings While Dieting

One of the most basic principles of dieting is to consume more calories than you ingest. People who are looking forward to losing weight usually opt for restrictive diets that limit menu plans to only a few items and it is quite understandable that after a couple of weeks of feeding yourself the same foods like jean bardet you start looking forward to eating something different. And this is exactly when food cravings appear, we succumb to temptation, and all our previous dieting efforts are ruined. How can you avoid cravings while dieting?

Have Healthy snacks. Sometimes, cravings are unavoidable. So, it is a good idea to have a list of healthy snacks that help you succumb to temptation but avoid gaining extra weight as result of your cravings. Enjoy a healthy and varied menu plan. Make every meal count and enjoy what you are eating. A nutritionist can help you design a menu plan that is both healthy and varied and that is tailored suit to your particular needs. If you have different food options like banana, there are much more combinations you can make.

Have more interests! Boredom and cravings come hand in hand. Therefore, it is a good idea to avoid cravings while dieting to start a new hobby or dig up new interests that keep your mind busy in other things so that you don’t think so much about food.

Keep track of your cravings. Make it a habit to keep a food diary. A food diary is a notebook in which you can write down how you feel whenever you have a food craving. Many a time, this is an easy way to discover that perhaps we are not hungry at all but thirsty (and therefore a glass of water is all we need), or tired so we can opt to take a nap or bored, which means that it is time to go for a walk, read a book or just take a rest and watch some TV.
